Lacuna Coil Showcases Their Melodic Chops on New Song “Save Me”

Italian metal band Lacuna Coil have debuted their third and final single “Save Me,” which is featured on their upcoming ninth studio album Black AnimaThis follow up to their 2016 album Delirium,  is set to be released on October 11 via Century Media Records.

“Save Me,” shows the band going in a more melodic direction, with the electric guitars hammering out hard hitting, yet beautifully melodic chords that compliment their singers Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro perfectly. The song hosts string sections as well, which build up the melodic elements for this recent track, which is a departure from the draker sound featured on earlier singles such as “Reckless.”

Black Anima is set to showcase a diverse range of sounds from the dark and brooding atmosphere present on tracks such as “Reckless,” to the more melodic elements present on this recent track “Save Me.” While the band may perform utilizing different styles, they explain that whatever direction they venture in, is a direction that stays true to their sound.

“We never try to stretch our presentation or our image in a way that we are doing something different from who we really are.” Scabbia explained in her interview with mxdwn earlier this year. “Of course, we love to play around with makeup and with different clothes, but it’s all stuff we like very much and it puts us in a mindset of ‘okay the show is happening and the costume will make the show better,’ the interaction with have with the crowd and what we feel from the crowd is no different because we are not different people.”
