Aaron Turner Announces Second Solo Release of 2019 Repression’s Blossom for November Release and Shares “Underlying Nature Of Habitual Dishonesty”

Aaron Turner, the guitarist and vocalist for several metal outfits including Isis, Old Man Gloom and SUMAC, has announced his second solo project of 2019 entitled Repression’s Bloom. This latest project will be released on November 15th via Ektro Records/Sige Records.

Repression’s Bloom will be the second solo album project that Turner has released this year, following up from his September release Interminable ConniptionIn addition to this album announcement, Turner has released a new track entitled “Underlying Nature Of Habitual Dishonesty,” a new experimental metal track that carries a lot of dark undertones, and eerie guitar riffs, that clash with the track’s electronics, creating an intense, but expressive atmosphere.

Earlier this year Turner unveiled new collaborative project with Will Brooks (MC dälek) of dälek, called DOOLHOF, a Dutch word for “maze.”This new project premiered at the Dutch extreme music festival Roadburn, which showcases many acts from experimental music styles.

In addition to his work as a musician, Turner is also the head of Hydra Head Records, one of the main labels at the forefront of experimental metal. As a musician, he has ventured into diverse sonic territories, and has had his band SUMAC collaborate with experimental noise musician Keiji Haino on two different projects. Their most recent album Even For Just The Briefest Moment / Keep Charging This “expiation” / Plug In To Making It Slightly Better, debuted earlier this year.

Last year Turner’s former group Isis reunited as Celestial, in honor of bassist Caleb Scofield, during benefit concert for Scofield’s family. In addition to his work with SUMAC, and his solo projects, Turner is still working with Old Man Gloom, and debuted a new song with the group at Psycho Fest 2019 earlier this year.
