Ghost frontman Tobias Forge has been hinting at the possibility of potential film or book adaption of the band’s story. Although there are no official plans on these projects as of yet, the band which has killed off the persona of every frontman persona with each successive tour, discussed the idea in an interview with the Herald-Whig, and publication based in Quincy, Illinois.
“I guess in the context of a rock band trying to tell a story, you can’t have too high of hopes of it being a blockbuster success,” Forge stated. He later added “We’re still a rock band, and it’s there for fun. But yeah, the intention is to, in one way or form, tell that story, and if it becomes a film one day, potentially… but there is definitely other ways to tell the story, as well. And it might come out in paper form.”
It would be unknown how Forge would approach the adaptions, however the band has always taken a somewhat comedic approach to their image in music. In addition to killing off their frontman’s personas, the band has parodied historical eras in music, with the group recently reimagining themselves as a 1960s era band for the songs “Kiss The Go Goat,” and “Mary On A Cross.”
The band recently performed both of these songs live during a show at the Rabobank Arena, in Bakersfield, California. While the group have planned to release solo studio album, they are delaying its release until 2021, to avoid coinciding with the US election year.
