Leave it to Ghost to treat their fans to some killer music just as the fall creeps in: the band has released the second track from their “lost” 7″ record “Seven Inches of Satanic Panic.” The brand new song titled “Mary On A Cross” is a nicely-textured tune with a welcomed ’60s psych tinge that follows the band’s Thursday release of the edgier A-side “Kiss the Go-Goat.” Both tracks contrast well and serve as the announcement of the group’s “Ultimate Tour Named Death” which kicked-off today in Bakersfield, California according to Consequence of Sound. The tour is set to culminate in Glens Falls, New York on October 26th, just a few days before Halloween.
The band’s 7″ has, in classic Ghost fashion, a deep story: the record was released in 1969 and marks the band’s 50th anniversary…so the legend says. Unearthed for fans of Ghost everywhere, the double dose of ’60s goodness is sure to be embraced. As previously reported here, Ghost has always been a group that keeps fans on their toes and the release of this double single is no different.
