The Pixies have just announced a small set of six North American shows, that will come on the heel of their most recent European tour. This set of small shows will take place across six intimate and small venues, as the band works with concert promoters to remove any secondary site links and to use their anti-tout teams and technology to help thwart the scalpers for these intimate dates. This tour will begin with two nights at The Troubadour, before heading out to San Francisco’s August Hall, and closing in Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Theatre.
These shows are also unique due to their lack of a firm setlist, the band has rehearsed over 90 songs from their discography, and each set is expected to change from night to night. Despite these change ups, a press release from the band has stated that they will likely play fan favorites such as “Here Comes Your Man,” “Wave of Mutilation,” “Where is My Mind,” “Gouge Away,” “Hey,” “Bone Machine, ” “Debaser,” and “Gigantic,” during these shows.
Earlier this month the band released their latest full-length studio album Beneath The Eyrie. They also performed at Pasadena Daydream, alongside The Cure, Deftones and Chelsea Wolfe.
