Watch Massive Attack Cover Peter Seeger, Avicii, Bauhaus and More During Three-Night Run at the Hollywood Palladium

Bristol collective Massive Attack finished a three-night performance on September 3-5 at the Hollywood Palladium in California. During the mini-tour, group member Grant “Daddy G” Marshall and graffiti artist Robert “3D” Del Naja covered artists such as Peter Seeger, Avicii, Bauhaus, The Cure, The Velvet Underground and Ultravox.

Known as one of the most innovative and influential groups of all time, Massive Attack well-represented the classics on the Hollywood Palladium stage. During the unforgettable three nights, Massive Attack covered folk singer Peter Seeger’s “Where Have All The Flowers Gone,” British new wave band Ultravox’s “Rockwrok,” British alternative rock band The Cure’s “10:15 Saturday Night,” New York-based experimental rock band The Velvet Underground’s “I Found a Reason,” and English rock band Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi Is Dead.”

Fans recorded the videos of Massive Attack’s cover of Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi Is Dead.” In the amateur footages, we can still see how Massive Attack uses The Cure’s dark rhythms, reverb-laden guitars and atmospheric samples to contrast their laid-back sound of trip-hop. Being a group that is out of ordinary, Massive Attack released a can of black spray painting as the reissue of their Mezzanine album. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their masterpiece Mezzanine, the trip-hop outfit is preparing for their Winter 2019 Mezzanine 20th Anniversary Tour in Europe.
