Vampire Weekend Announces Spring 2020 Tour Dates

After playing a sold-out gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden this past weekend, Vampire Weekend has announced new tour dates for spring of 2020. According to Pitchfork, the group announced the tour dates right after the three-hour career-spanning set at the garden, which was live-streamed on Live Nation’s Twitter account. A  graphic featuring the new tour dates appeared on the stream under the title “FOTB 2020.”

The new leg of the dates will see the band play stateside and is set to begin May 29 in Westbrook, ME. Other stops include Boise, Calgary, Edmonton, Detroit, and Kansas City, concluding Oct. 7 in Birmingham, AL. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Sept. 11 via the band’s website. The tour is in support of their latest High Fidelity ranked LP Father of the Bride, released earlier this year the band is currently on the road promoting it, including festival sets at Atlanta’s Music Midtown this upcoming weekend, Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful music festival the weekend after, and Guadalajara’s Tecate Coordenada festival alongside The National, The Neighbourhood, Juanes,  and Jenny Lewis.

The band recently released the star-studded music video for “This Life,” the third single released from their latest record. The video included cameos from Danielle Haim, Ariel Rechtshaid, Simi and Haze, and Vampire Weekend’s own Ezra Koenig.
