As the massive Corona Capital music festival in Mexico City, Mexico, begins to unwind, fellow Mexican beer company Tecate is taking their competitor to task with their own fest: Tecate Coordenada. This festival will host its fifth edition of the major music festival in Guadalajara, Mexico this October, with a stacked lineup featuring The National, Vampire Weekend and Billy Idol among many more.
Experimental rock band Yeasayer revealed the festival’s poster on their social media earlier today, where they also revealed it will be their first show in that Mexican City. Other prominent artists such as Blur, St. Vincent. Capital Cities, Phoenix, Interpol and Paramore have performed at the music festival in the past.

Tecate Coordenada began in 2019 to help capitalize on the rising popularity of many music festivals and events across the world and in Mexico. What is unique about Tecate Coordenada however, is the fact that they focus on promoting artists from across the world to perform, in addition to many acts that are native to Mexico such as Zoé, Café Tacvba and Carla Morrison.
The National have been busy with numerous projects this year including a film entitled I Am Easy To Find, which starred Alicia Vikander, best known for her role in Tomb Raider as Lara Croft. This playful short film shows a group of siblings who steal from each other as a way to express their sibling rivalry.
“The National gave me the stems for their songs, some were sketches some were finished and encouraged and allowed me to create my own versions of the songs to score the film,” Mike Mills, the film’s director stated. “The album then features different versions of these same 7 songs — and 9 new songs which sometimes refer to the themes, texts, ideas from the film — but are their own work, their own piece of art.”
Vampire Weekend are currently riding off the massive success of their latest album Father Of The Bride, which was released this month. This album, ended the nearly six year hiatus for the band, who’s release prior was 2013’s Vampire Of The City.
