Muse Announces Retro Boxset Origin of Muse for December 2019 Release

Muse is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album Showbiz in a special way. The band has announced the release of an album boxset called “Origin of Muse,” set to be released Dec. 6. The boxset will contain a 48-page booklet with each member giving in-depth interviews, posters, setlists, photographs and contact sheets that are inserts that may be pulled out from the book. In addition, nine CDs and four vinyl platters will come in the boxset, with the CDs including Showbiz and their sophomore effort Origin of Symmetry, along with demos and live audio performances from both albums.

According to LoudwireShowbiz will be fully remastered, b-sides disc and a live disc of BBC Radio One broadcasts of the band during 1999 and 2000 will also be included. With Origin of Symmetry, the box set will include instrumental demos, the original album remastered, a b-sides release and Muse’s full performance of the album at the 2011 Reading Festival, totaling up to 40 previously unreleased tracks. Since the band’s debut in 1999, they have released seven studio albums and have sold more than 20 million album’s worldwide, with their most recent being Simulation Theory released last year.
