In the new video for “Live Forever” the ladies from Nasty Cherry are truly having a great time. The band is made up of members Gabbriette, Kitten’s Chloe Chaidez, Georgia Somary, and Deborah Knox-Hewson. The new video is shot in black and white and portrays the band getting tattoos, visiting an amusement park and showing off their dance moves in their comfort zone. Nasty Cherry will release their debut album this fall with details forthcoming. The video for “Live Forever” starts with one of the members getting a tattoo that says, Live Forever.
Georgia Somary from Nasty Cherry says, “Live Forever” is a song about being “unconfined, unrefined and self-assured” so naturally, “the video shows a less filtered side of the band.” Somary also directed the video which was edited by Matt Copson. She continues, “I wanted all of us to be seen as we are. We just went to a theme park for my birthday, ate a ton of fried pickles and filmed most of it there on our phones, as well as in sessions, and at Gabriette’s apartment over two days.”
Nasty Cherry has the official stamp of Charli XCX and they are on her label Vroom Vroom. In one of their early posts as a band, they introduce Gabbriette on Instagram as the group’s singer and head “bitch” and they also released a video with a couple champagne flutes sitting atop a woman’s bare bottom. They capitalize on their sassy moves which adds flavor to them as a group.
Nasty Cherry co-wrote “Live Forever” with Charli XCX and producer Justin Raisen (Sky Ferreira, Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon). In a statement, the band is described as coming together in a day with a very quick and organic writing process involving lots of woodblocks and guitars and birth control.
The group sold out their debut live show at The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, and their first show in New York at Baby’s All Right, The ladies will play their first festival, All Things Go Fall Classic in Washington D.C. on October 12-13, 2019. They will then head oversees to headline NME’s “Girls To The Front” club night in London on September 23 at Shacklewell Arms.
Made up of two Brits (@georgiasomary, @debbiedrums), and two Americans (@gabriette, @chloechaidez). In their spare time, you may find the lead singer Gabz modeling for the recent cover of Galore or sitting front row at YSL in Paris and you might see bassist Georgia flying planes, loading 18th century muskets or decorating sets for the Star Wars movies; you might hear drummer Debbie recording radio episodes with Charli at the Beats 1 studio or you might catch guitarist Chloe gate crashing the red carpet or jumping off a speaker, performing with her second band KITTEN.
