The Locust Announce First US Show In Four Years With Desert Daze Appearance

The Locust has announced their first US show in four years at the annual Desert Daze festival. The festival announced the full lineup with Wu-Tang Clan, Ween, Flaming Lips, Devo and Stereolab also set to perform according to the PRP. Other performers include DIIV, Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, The Black Angels, Crumb, and Parquet Courts. The two-day festival will take place Oct. 10- Oct. 13 in Lake Perris, CA with passes on sale now. See the full lineup below.

The Locust band member Justin Pearson revealed to Brooklyn Vegan that the band does plan on playing more shows and releasing new material. He states “We do plan to play more, and function as normal band again, with new material, and new uniforms as well. I guess the world is getting more and more fucked up, so we need to do our part to set things straight.” More announcements from the band will be announced at a later date. The band’s last studio effort was 2007’s New Erections. Since the album, the band reunited in 2013, performing at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles, CA and the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX that same year.

Earlier this year, Pearson and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs formed a duo called More Pain, which they released their debut self-titled EP in April.
