A$AP Rocky’s upcoming upcoming tour, which was scheduled for this month, has been cancelled in light of the recent assault allegations against, and concurrent arrest of the prominent New York City rapper. Planned stops in countries Germany, Belgium and Italy will be cancelled entirely, while the organizer’s for Barcelona’s Sonar festival scramble to find a replacement.
A$AP Rocky is currently being held due to a street brawl that he engaged in while in Stockholm, Sweden. The rapper’s management have claimed that the brawl was in self-defense. Numerous celebrities including Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Kris Jenner, Cara Delevigne, Tyler the Creator, 2 Chainz, G-Eazy, Schoolboy Q, Kid Cudi, and Miguel have called for his release as a response to these allegations.
Earlier this week it was reported that the rapper was facing unsanitary and “inhumane” conditions, however prison officials, along with the rapper’s Swedish attorney have vehemently denied these claims. Prison officials have claimed that the building has been newly renovated, and that the rapper is receiving the same treatment as any other prisoner, while his attorney claims that he is being treated well in his detention center, although he is reporting a lack of appetite.
The original TMZ report claimed:
“A$AP Rocky is being held in a Swedish jail with shockingly inhumane conditions — feces hurled about and not cleaned up, wretched food and facilities that are not fit for human beings … this according to sources with direct knowledge of Rocky’s situation.”
The tabloid went on to claim that A$AP Rocky was sleeping on a yoga mat without blankets, that his water was not clean, that his food was not edible, that his cell was next to a mentally disabled prisoner who slammed his head against a concrete wall repeatedly, while only being given an apple to eat each day of his sentence.
His lawyer, Henrik Olsson Lilj heavily denied these allegations stating:
“He has never talked to TMZ or any third party regarding the circumstances when he was arrested, ie when he was in the prison. He was then treated and treated properly. However, he has experienced the conditions in the arrest as very simple and has experienced that it smells urine in the cell in the arrest. However, not in detention. The conditions in the arrest cell can in that respect be criticized. ”
