Lael Neale & Honey Child @ Madeline Garden Bistro 7/14

Honey Child is a Heroine Folk project based in Los Angeles, led by Opera singer Claire McKeown with a choir comprised of Claire Boutelle, Aimee Jacobs, Danielle Mandell, Dayna Richards, Jacquelyn Sky and Cynthia Zitter. The collective are throwing a Mad Tea Party Salon for the first three Sundays of July at the Madeline Garden Bistro & Venue in Pasadena, featuring guest performances by local artists.

The atmospheric music of Honey Child, hones in on the inherent drama of operatics – generating storylines of epic proportions within contemporary experience. Romanticism becomes a method towards empowerment, with their self titled debut album Honey Child (2018), providing a track-list that could easily function as a transcendental soundtrack to  your love life. Listen to ‘Treaty’, ‘Standing In The Shadows’ and ‘She Calls His Name’.

Joining Honey Child on the second night of their residency is singer-songwriter and guitarist siren Lael Neale, who in the same vain sings heartfelt and emotional ballads. With influences that take root in the folk era of the 60s and 70s her voice elicits the atmospheric sounds of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. With her debut I’ll Be Your Man (2015), she has curated an album that traverses feelings with a mystic haze.

The Madeline Garden Bistro is an intimate venue, which will hold the voices of these strong, female artists with a closeness that other spaces cannot provide. This event is free and for all ages, featuring guest speakers (TBD) as well as the live music.
