Babymetal fans are hit with another surprise after they released their new single “Pa Pa Ya!!” yesterday. The kawaii Japanese pop/metal band has announced a release date of October 11 for their third studio album, Metal Galaxy.
The release of the band’s new album comes with high anticipation as they been noted by critics for blending the lines between the genres of pop and metal.
The trio originally consisted of Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui-Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi, however, Mizuno announced her departure from the group due to medical reasons in 2018. The band met in an odd circumstance as they were originally band maters in the Japanese idol girl group Sakura Gakuin. In 2013, they decided to split off from Sakura Gakuin and form Babymetal.
Since then they have released singles such as “Starlight” and “Elevator Girl.” Their unique sound has attracted fans all around the world from their home country of Japan to the middle of America. They even opened for The Red Hot Chilli Peppers during their 2017 U.S. tour and opened for a handful of Guns N’ Roses shows.
