The Adult Swim Festival has revealed its 2019 lineup. The festival will take place November 15 and 16 at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, CA and will include sets from Vince Staples, Geto Boys, Jamie xx, and a special performance from Dethklok from the hit Adult Swim television show Metalocalypse. Other acts on the bill include Young Thug, Captain Murphy, Tierra Whack, and Lil Nas X. See the full lineup below.
The festival will mark Dethklok’s first performance in five years, with their last being 2014’s Festival Supreme, also in Los Angeles. Leading man Brendon Small announced a potential breakup in 2016, stating “No, we don’t want to do anymore Metalocalypse at all,’ and that was the end of it.”Small then sat down with mxdwn to say that while Metalocalypse came to an end, Dethklok would still continue making music. He stated “…maybe the show gets canceled, I can keep the audio alive. So, I would love to keep on making Dethklok records forever.” He recently collaborated with Scott Ian of Anthrax on music for a pinball machine game called Black Knight: Sword of Rage.
According to Revolver Magazine, the festival will also feature a special screening of Rick and Morty season four screening, a Robot Chicken Intergalactic Power Summit, Squidbillies 10 Man Bunkhouse Stampede, a discussion with Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Samurai Jack, and Dexter’s Laboratory, exclusive talent appearances, panels, meet and greets, merchandise, games and much more. Fans can visit the festival’s website for more info and purchase tickets. The festival was previously held in Downtown Los Angeles, with it now moving to the newly built stadium.
2019 will mark the second year for the festival, with last year’s lineup boasting performances from Run the Jewels, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Kamaiyah, Neko Case, High on Fire, and Mastodon.
