Robyn Drops Hypnotic New Video For “Ever Again”

Swedish superstar Robyn drops yet another gorgeous music video for a song off of her latest album, Honey, bringing the total amount of videos from Honey to three. The first song off of Honey to be given the music video treatment was the title-track “Honey,” as mxdwn reported in the past, and the second song from Honey to get music video was “Between the Line.” This time, she has released the video for the album’s final track, “Ever Again.”

The video was directed by Colin Solal Cardo and choreographer Maria ‘Decida’ Wahlberg, who frequently collaborates with Robyn. It was also revealed in a press release sent to mxdwn that the gorgeous outfit she is wearing is a one of a kind Louis Vuitton piece, designed by Nicholas Ghesquière specifically for the “Ever Again” video.

The video begins in a darkened room with a microphone in the middle, filled with Greek statues covered in plastic, crumbling columns and sand on the floor. Robyn enters the frame, clad in her dreamy Ghesquière designed Louis Vuitton, singing directly into the camera with a determined look on her face. The video continues on as Robyn reveals a very gorgeous sheer corset and the atmosphere brightens, showing that the video is taking place on a set, in front of a green screen. The lighting of the video then turns orange and Robyn is shown dancing very sensually with the microphone stand. Finally, the dark atmosphere from the beginning of the video is introduced again and Robyn is shown singing on the floor, then wiping the sand off of her hands.

There is something decidedly nostalgic about the “Ever Again” video and it is as energetic and fun as it is sensual. In the press release sent to mxdwn, it is said that Robyn describes the “Ever Again” video as “a dreamy place, somewhere undefined, somewhere in my unconsciousness”, and it is said that she “revels in the power of sensuality, self care and human touch” in this video. All that and more shines through in this incredibly powerful video.
