Mac DeMarco @ The Greek Theatre 9/13

Mac DeMarco at Empty Bottle, July 20

Canadian artist Mac DeMarco will grace Los Angeles this September, touring North America under the title of his new release Here Comes The Cowboy (2019). The record which was produced on his own – Mac’s Record Label, is DeMarco’s sixth studio album since he became a cult leader on the indie music scene with Rock and Roll Nightclub (2012).

DeMarco’s laid back nature and a persona that never takes itself too seriously, infuses his lo-fi, slacker, blue-wave sounds with an unquestionable authenticity. Accruing a set of committed and supportive fans in the early days of his quickly acquired success, through the continuous touring of Canada, the Pacific North-West and beyond, DeMarco has developed a performative presence and highly individualized stylistic sonics.

Combining naivety with psychological depths, DeMarco investigates highly-relatable subject matter with a causal, non-judgmental accessibility. Since 2008, DeMarco has developed a sound utilizing his multi-instrumental, singer-songwriter and producing talents – never straying too far from blending irony and sincerity with ’70s soft rock, jazz and low-key pop.

The Greek Theatre, Griffith Park, will be an atmospheric space to hear DeMarco channel the music of his six records. You can expect a setlist of new material from Here Comes The Cowboy (2019) as well as tracks from This Old Dog (2017), Another One (2015), Salad Days (2014), Rock and Roll Nightclub (2012) and (2012), not to mention the goofy humor and anecdotes that DeMarco is famous for.
