Pitchfork just announced the first round of artists in their 2019 line-up for the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. So far, some artists include Charli XCX, Chromatics, and Belle and Sebastian. The festival will be making a return to its usual venue at La Grande Halle de La Villete and will take place between October 31st and November 2nd. Other headliners include Skepta, Mura Masa, and Hamza. Pitchfork stated that more artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
This year’s addition to the annual Pitchfork Music Festival Paris will be the largest one to date and will include over 50 acts. Additionally, the festival is making a point to give avant garde artists the stage and will be featuring multiple up and coming avant garde musicians for the first time.
This will also be the first year that Charli XCX takes the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris stage. The pop artist will also be playing at the Pitchfork Festival in July this year at Union Park in Chicago. Charli XCX has been making a point to put out a mass amount of music this year and is planning on releasing her self titled album Charli this September. Additionally, she announced a number of dates for her fall 2019 tour.
The Oregon electronic group Chromatics will be joining Charli XCX at the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris as well. They’ve released a number of singles and four studio albums including Chrome Rats vs. Basement Rutz (2003), Plaster Hounds (2004), Night Drive (2007), and Kill for Love (2012). Most recently, the group released a new music video for their single “Time Rider” and just finished their Double Exposure tour earlier this month.
Along with Chromatics and Charli XCX will be the Scottish band Belle and Sebastian. The group recently announced a handful of North American tour dates in July. These dates will lead up to their sporadic self-produced event called the Bowlie Weekender.
