Imogen Heap @ The Greek Theatre 6/13

Award winning British artist Imogen Heap will play The Greek Theatre in Griffith Park on June 13. Nominated for five grammy’s, winning one for engineering and another for her work on Taylor Swift’s album 1989 (2014), Heap’s contribution to music has an outreach that goes far beyond her own musical talents.

This show will be part of her year-long music and technology tour, developing her unique experimental-pop since she was a teenager, Heap has become renowned for her songwriting, record production and audio engineering. Well known for her records ‘Hide and Seek’, ‘Speeding Cars’, ‘Goodnight and Go’, as well as many others from her albums that span from her debut I Megaphone (1998), emotionally loaded and visceral lyrics are intertwined with synth-pop and electronic backgrounds.

The Mycelia World Tour has an altruistic agenda, with Heap determining that music should be artist-led, deconstructing the eco-system of the music industry as she has known it and developing a network where artists can connect virtually, on their own terms. The tour will consist of concerts, talks, workshops, exhibitions and will also perform as the launchpad for ‘the creative passport’ Mycelia is attempting to initiate for musicians across the globe.

This show has a lot to offer and with ticket prices starting at $5.00 it is worth seeing, Heap is an innovative artist and this show promises a high-standard of production.
