The Bird And The Bee Announce Interpreting the Masters Volume 2: A Tribute to Van Halen For August 2019 Release

The Bird and The Bee have announced a new tribute album to Van Halen. Interpreting the Masters Volume 2: A Tribute to Van Halen will feature covers of some of the band’s hits and deep-cuts from the David Lee-Roth era. The album is set for an August 2r release date via No Expectations / Release Me Records.  It follows the duo’s 2015 album Recreational Love and is their second cover album, following 2010s Interpreting the Masters, Vol. 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates. Volume 2 will feature 10 tracks and is produced by seven-time Grammy award winner Kurstin, who’s recently worked with Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, and Adele to name a few. Peep the tracklist below.

Along with the album announcement, they also released the second single from the album, a cover of Van Halen’s Ain’t Talking ‘Bout Love,” from the band’s 1987 self-titled debut album. It follows its recently released lead cover single, Panama.

The duo will then embark on a North American tour later this summer, kicking things off with a special performance at the John Anson Ford Theater in Los Angeles, CA on the album’s release day with Dave Grohl on drums and Justin Meldal Johnsen on bass. It will then continue on to Chicago, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Dallas, with it making its way back to the west coast with shows in San Diego, CA and San Francisco, CA. Samantha Sidley and Alex Lilly will be supporting the band for the majority of the tour, with DJ Aaron Exelson playing on select dates.
