It’s been three years since Bat For Lashes (Natasha Khan) last released The Bride in 2016, the British singer/ songwriter is back with her fifth studio album Lost Girls, which will be released via AWAL Recordings on September 6th. Preorder Lost Girls HERE.
“Kids In The Dark” as the album’s first single leaves illusion and spaciousness for the whole album. In this new track, Bat For Lashes recalls the young love when she was an 80s kid and sings out a sense of gloom and romance. She sings “Lying next to you/We could be on the moon/Tell me you’re not leaving/Cause you’re always on my mind…Let’s take it down/To where the loving starts/Where we’re just kids in the dark”. With lovely soft 80’s synth and vintage disco beats, the single is psychedelic and groovy music track that better serves with a little dance move. Listen to “Kids In The Dark” HERE.
Bat For Lashes teased her new music with a series of mysterious tweets and videos days ago. To capture some attention, she posted “Have you seen this lost girl? Call +1 213-675-6673 now” when she was wandering around in Los Angeles, where the new album was recorded. Spanning 10 tracks, the new album is a conceptual album where Bat For Lashes fantasizes her own “parallel universe.” It is about the journey of self-love and self-discovery, as well as encouraging the powerful female spirit.
