Maggie Rogers, supported by Now, Now, will play The Greek Theatre in Griffith Park this September. Rogers who released her debut album Heard It In A Past Life on Poly Records in January this year, gained notoriety for her single Alaska – a track of many, that skillfully weaves together folk, dance and R&B.
Growing up in Easton, Maryland, Rogers developed an affinity for music from a young age. Her talent generated opportunities to travel – spending time in different states across America and cities in Europe, she has collected an array of sounds, attributing them to her music in inventive ways. As a self-described feminist, her lyrics are unafraid of emotional experience and intelligence; raw, open and at the same time introspective.
This show will be part of her World Tour, with the acoustics of this outdoor venue set to beautifully offset her strong voice and the pop polish that accompanies it. Midwestern band Now, Now, formed of duo; Cacie Dalager (vocals, guitar, keyboard) and Bradley Hale (drums, backing vocals) will join Rogers. Their alternative indie rock, which finds its influences in the sounds of the 90’s, using acoustic guitars, synths and lyrics that ruminate with moody emotion, will compliment Rogers on this leg of her tour.
