Próxima Parada with Hayduke at MilkBoy 7/13

Próxima Parada blends blues and R&B to produce their mellow groove. Their name means “next stop” in Spanish, fitting, as they are definitely pushing the future of modern soul. Their music is chill and emotive, with perfect summer vibes. The strong, soulful voice of lead singer, keys, and guitar player, Nick Larson, brings power to their mellow songs. On the band’s website it says, “Their music makes human connection sexy again,” and while I wouldn’t have come up with that myself, it does seem to work. Something about their music makes it feel deeply personal, like they are playing directly to you. Check out my favorite of their songs (and perhaps one of my favorite songs in general), Hannah Hannah, and their song with over 1.6 million streams on Spotify, Time in Circle.

Opening for Próxima Parada is a band called Hayduke, which is an R&B group from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music. Hayduke implements elements of pop and jazz to create a mellow R&B sound. Check out their song, Five More Minutes.
