As part of their Tiny Desk Contest On the Road, NPR will present a set by Quinn Christopherson on Tuesday, June 25th at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Doors to the venue will open at 6:00pm, and first sounds begin an hour later at 7:00pm. This all ages event will cost $10 for concert goers (which is quite a bargain, if you ask me).
Christopherson is a singer/songwriter hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, who most recently entered the indie scene after winning NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in May of 2019. Out of over six thousand applicants, the judges for NPR’s contest were most captivated by Christopherson’s raw energy and emotion on “Erase Me,” which documents his powerful testimony of living and understanding his life experience as a transgender male. Although Christopherson truly speaks to his own experience in great detail, “Erase Me” allows anyone and everyone regardless of sexuality or gender to relate in finding their own voice and take control of their own existence.
This show is slated to have several other special guests to support Quinn Christopherson. Although NPR has not disclosed the names of these artists as of late, they will be fellow Tiny Desk Contest entrants who proved their songwriting prowess and musical ability to the contest judges.
Whether you are simply into mellow yet impactful indie tunes, or want to end Pride Month on a high note, be sure to give Quinn Christopherson a listen and support his live music.
