mxdwn PREMIERE: Eva Gardner Releases Retro-Themed Video for “Dirty Bird”

Eva Gardner is a veteran musician, currently playing bass for pop mega-star P!nk as well as synth pop sister duo Tegan & Sara (as well as being the daughter of Kim Gardner of The Creation). Today we’re premiering the new video for her song “Dirty Bird.”

The song’s a fun little chunk of power pop, with a charming and nostalgic video that serves as the perfect complement and a great way to visually express the theme of the song.

In the video Gardner’s character is on a quest to find love and human connection. On June 14th, Garnder will release her new EP called Chasing Ghosts.

The video was produced, directed and edited by Jessamyn Violet. The setting is a vintage Hollywood home, lending a retro aesthetic to the video for the playful song.

“Eva’s an authentic musical legend, and showcasing her in a vintage Hollywood home sparked a sizzling natural chemistry that clearly shows in the shots,” said Violet. “‘Dirty Bird’ has a universally relatable theme, but the challenge was keeping the shots both energetically light and also dark and sexy enough to do justice to the dueling forces of the song and it’s starring character. There’s such an incredible 90’s energy to the song that I wanted to expand on that, and since the phone dialing sample is used throughout the track, I just had to play with the nostalgia of old phones and cords.”
