Rooney at Johnny Brenda’s 6/9

The alt rock band that graced many an iPod, Rooney, is celebrating their 20th anniversary of making music together by embarking on a nationwide “Break The Wall Tour” this summer. Their song “When Did Your Heart Go Missing” from their 2007 album, Calling The World, was a staple of the alt rock genre in the 2000’s, and currently has over 17 million streams on Spotify. In fact, Rooney’s front man, Robert Schwartzman, played Anne Hathaway’s love interest, Michael Moscovitz (who was also in a band!) in The Princess Diaries. It doesn’t get much more 2000s than that ladies and gentlemen. So if you want to feel like you are Mia Thermopolis, this is the show for you. Maybe Schwartzman will even have some M&Ms bouncing around on his keyboard.

All of the shows on this tour will be unplugged, giving fans a chance to see some of their favorite songs stripped down and performed in new ways. With this series of unplugged shows, it is fitting for Rooney to play in more intimate venues. Johnny Brenda’s is an awesome place to hear your favorite band play without the feeling of separation imposed by bigger venues. With 20 years of playing together, Rooney is sure to put on a killer unplugged live show.
