Major Lazer on Day 2 of HARD Summer Music Festival 2016

Major Lazer is bringing the Caribbean vibes with a new song featuring Skip Marley called “Can’t Take It From Me.” The track marks the reappearance of the group’s iconic image of their namesake by returning to their Caribbean-influenced roots. “Can’t Take It From Me” is the group’s first single from their upcoming fourth album, the details of which are yet to be released. The song fuses their Caribbean musical traditions that they are most known for with bass drops and EDM energy.

Major Lazer started in 2008 when he collaborated with longtime friends Diplo and Switch to produce an LP which featured a collection of futuristic dancehall jams. Then 2009 came and Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do was released. In 2013 Switch left to pursue his solo career and in turn Major Lazer and Dipolo joined forces with MC Walshy Fire and Trinidadian producer Jillionaire. This strong force produced their second studio album called Free the Universe. This however was not the end of their work, as in 2015 they returned with Peace Is The Mission. This album featured artists and friends of Major Lazer from all of over the world, and by bringing music and dance to every corner of the world the group was able to achieve their mission of peace.

Major Lazer is best recognized for the global smash “Lean On” featuring DJ Snake and MØ and “Cold Water” with Justin Bieber and MØ. “Cold Water” became their second track to achieve one billion streams. This summer Major Lazer will hit the festival track with shows like Float Fest. Diplo is making big moves as he just announced his first Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Block Party festival featuring artists like Billie Eilish and G-Eazy.
