Slipknot Frontman Corey Taylor Set To Have Double Knee Surgery Today

Corey Taylor, the frontman for Slipknot and Stone Sour is currently undergoing an important double knee surgery today according to reports from Loudwire and the artist’s social media accounts. It is currently unknown why the heavy metal performer is receiving the surgery, however this is not the first time he has faced physical ailments.

“Surgery in both knees today- soon I’ll be worth Six Million Dollars!! See you all soon!” Taylor wrote on his Instagram as a shot displayed his hospital bed in clear view.

Back in 2016 Taylor underwent spinal surgery, where he had two discs in his back replaced along with some work done on his vertebrae. “Basically broke my neck a while back and didn’t realize it,” Taylor explained around the time of the operation.

“If I hadn’t caught it, I would be paralyzed.” Taylor said a bit after the procedure had finished. “The doctor told me that not too long ago, which scared the crap out of me.”

Cherry Bombs performer and Taylor’s fiance Alicia Dove also shared a video on her Instagram before the Slipknot performer was about to receive his surgery. “My little Tenderoni is in surgery today! Please comment with your best dad joke below to help me keep him laughing!” Dove wrote on her own Instagram page.

Although Taylor has just undergone this medical treatment Slipknot are still scheduled to perform a week from now on May 17 on Jimmy Kimmel Live! It is currently unknown if the band will change their attire, most noticeably their face masks as a result of the band’s percussionist, Chris Fehn’s tumultuous departure.

Fehn filed a lawsuit against the band earlier this year:  “alleging that he was not fairly compensated for profits from touring and merchandise. [He] apparently accused his bandmates of setting up multiple business entities instead of funneling all the profits through one single company to be split among the band members.”

This departure caused some tension with many of the band’s fans who took to social media to press them on Fehn’s lawsuit and departure. Taylor responded to fan’s Twitter comment by stating “You think that’s(the allegations) dickish, try being wrongfully accused of stealing money from someone you cared about, and having a lot of your fans believe it.”

Despite this departure and the surgery, Slipknot are still expected to drop an album some time this year. “I can’t go into it too much because it deals with a lot of my personal life, but the last few years have been really tough for me,” Taylor explained, regarding the album.
