Geto Boys Announce The Beginning of a Long Goodbye: The Final Farewell Tour Dates Following Bushwick Bill’s Cancer Diagnosis

Houston based rap-trio Geto Boys have announced a new set of tour dates beginning at the end of this month. It will kick off May 24 in Pontiac, MI. Shows will then continue into Cleveland and Washington DC, concluding in New York May 30. Additional tour dates will be added soon. Tickets will go on sale at a later date, with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards pancreatic cancer awareness charities according to The Fader. See the full list of dates below.

This tour will also be there last. Member Bushwick Bill recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments. The diagnosis was a surprise to Bill, as doctors have told him that the mass on his pancreas was not harmful.  Bill also mentioned that he was working on three new albums, the possibility of a documentary, and a book.

Their former DJ, DJ Ready Red tragically passed away last year due to a heart attack. The group’s last album was 2005’s The Foundation and had a few hits in the early ’90s including “Mind Playing Tricks On Me,” “Six Feet Deep” and “The World Is a Ghetto.”
