Coachella will be hosting a live, Easter Sunday Service this upcoming weekend, performed by Kanye West and his newly formed gospel choir, according to Billboard. The live service will be livestreamed on Youtube at 9:00 am on April 21st, as part of the platform’s first-ever curated livestream of performances.
The gospel-inspired event will take place inside the festival’s campgrounds at “The Mountain,” a hillside known for being a spot for festival goers to admire the sunsets. West’s performance will be on the last day of weekend 2 of the trendy festival, including lineup of Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, Tame Impala, Khalid, Bad Bunny, Blood Orange, Lizzo, and many more on that same day.
West’s gospel choir was formed at the beginning of this year, with Kim Kardashian sharing the news on Twitter with a tweet that read, “Our new Sunday Service is starting. Check out the rehearsals on my Instagram stories.” In the following months, snippets of performances were shared on various social media platforms. The gospel choir consists of prominent music figures and friends of West, including the likes of Kid Cudi, Tony Williams, and more.
Coachella originally announced West’s special Sunday Service show on March 31st through twitter, by posting a video of the rapper telling an audience at one of his services the exciting news. Youtube will be livestreaming the second weekend of Coachella with host KCRW’s Jason Bentley.
