Suspected Shooter in Nipsey Hussle Assassination Pleads Not Guilty After Murder Charge

Eric Ronald Holder Jr., the suspected shooter in Nipsey Hussle’s assassination, has pleaded not guilty after being charged with murder. According to NBC News,  “Holder was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.” Along with fatally shooting the rapper, he was also accused of shooting and hurting  Kerry Lathan and Shermi Villanueva outside of Hussle’s clothing store in Los Angeles based on a criminal complaint. Holder’s lawyer, Chris Darden, has not made a comment regarding the accusations.

Nipsey Hussle, real name Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was fatally and tragically shot and killed this past weekend outside of his clothing store. According to multiple sources,  the shooter approached Asghedom, firing multiple shots. He fled the scene in a nearby vehicle that police say was driven by a female. Asghedom was 33.

His girlfriend, actress Lauren London, recently spoke out about his death stating “He was a protector and wanted us to be our best at all times. He was a truth seeker and truth speaker.”She continued to say “I’m going to keep my head high and always represent for my king to the fullest. He loved his kids. He was a family man. His family came first.” Many musicians have mourned the rapper including Beyonce, Cardi B, SZA, and YG, delaying his new album release until May.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was an advocate for the Los Angeles community, wanting to end gun violence and help the police help kids in the community to not take part.
