Hot Chip Announces New Album A Bath Full of Ecstasy for June 2019 Release and Force Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub to Break Up In New Video for “Hungry Child”

Hot Chip

Hot Chip have announced a new album. It’ll be called A Bath Full of Ecstasy and it comes out June 21, 2019. It’s the electronic icons’ seventh album and first since 2015’s Why Make Sense.

In addition to sharing the news of their upcoming album, the band has also released a new single and video. The cinematic piece runs right up to the eight-minute mark including the end credits. The Twilight Zone-esque video stars Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub, who are forced to confront their troubled relationship when Hot Chip’s “house” song drives a wedge between them.

Over the last few years, members of Hot Chip have worked on their solo material. Alexis Taylor released Beautiful Thing last year and Piano in 2016. and Joe Goddard released Electric Lines in 2017.

This album announcement comes on the heels of a new tour being scheduled for the band. It began a few days ago in Glasgow and will continue on through the summer. The last date that’s announced so far is December 2019 in Oslo.
