Mavis & Friends: Mavis Staples, M. Ward, Lucius, Jason Isbell, Phoebe Bridgers, & more @ Ace Hotel Theatre 5/22

Gospel legend Mavis Staples will be celebrating her 80th birthday with shows in three major cities. The iconic artist will have her Los Angeles show at the Ace Hotel theatre on Wednesday, May 22nd. She will be joined by her talented friends Benjamin Booker, Griffin Goldsmith, Jason Isbell, Jerry Harrison, Joe Henry, Lucius, M. Ward, Phoebe Bridgers, Son Little, Taylor Goldsmith, Trombone Shorty, The War and Treaty, and more. Tickets for the LA show range from $39 to $79. Doors at the venue will open at 6:30 PM, with opening sounds starting at 7:30 PM.

Mavis staples is a well renowned singer and civil rights activist that has influenced many artists throughout the years. Staples has accumulated a total of 14 studio albums that nearly all include her signature r&b/gospel sound. In 1999 she was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017.

Julian Pino: I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. I also make an effort to attend local shows whether the performers are superstar artists or aspiring artists. Ultimately, I aim to positively impact the community of artists and listeners that are as impassioned about music as I am.
