Ulver Announces Summer 2019 Tour Dates

After the Norwegian-based band performed their first two-ever shows in the U.S. this past week, Ulver has announced a mini-5 date tour on the West Coast this summer, according to The PRP. From the East Coast to the West Coast, the band will have to determine which coast they prefer by the end of June.

The tour will kick off on Friday, June 14th in Los Angeles at The Wiltern and then move into San Francisco and Vancouver. The tour takes a slow end in Portland at the Roseland Theatre on Wednesday, June 19th.

This experimental collective has been in the game for nearly 25 years, continuously dipping their feet into any musical genre. At one point, the group wanted to cater to an American audience, so they partnered up with a Cleveland-based company that allowed them to sell merchandise and vinyl records of previous albums released in their extended career.

It’s not known yet if the band plans on releasing any new music yet, but it’s certain that the band will continue performing their latest material. The latest records include the Sic Transit Gloria Mundi EP and the critically-acclaimed The Assassination of Julius Caesar, both released in 2017.

Their critically acclaimed 2017 record made it to MXDWN’s Top 50 albums in 2017, ranking at #9. Once known to have a black metal vibe years ago, this record switched up and resembled an ‘80s synth-goth sound. The band makes sure to keep their fans on their toes at all times.

Michael Izquierdo: I'm a third-year student at The New School studying Journalism & Design in order to tell stories that are often misrepresented or unreported on. I want to take my writing and report on stories within the LGBTQ+ and Latinx community. In terms of music, play me a smooth jazz tune, an upbeat pop song, or an unheard indie artist and I'm sure I'll become infatuated by the music. I am always here to share someone else's story, to uplift a voice in any community.
