Primitive Race Confirms New Album is in the Works

This week, Primitive Race, the alternative rock band and supergroup, confirmed that a third album is in the works. The band who was founded by Chris Kniker, shared on Twitter that there would be some surprise guests on the upcoming album, though nothing more has been revealed other that it will blow fans’ minds.

The Los Angeles supergroup that was founded in 2013 have released two albums thus far, which are Primitive Race in 2015 and Soul Pretender in 2017. Their self-titled debut album featured a supergroup centered on Kniker, with several industrial and metal musicians contributing and participating in the album. In 2017, the release of Soul Pretender saw Primitive Race adopt a more alternative-metal sound, and included drumming by Dave Crover (Melvins) and vocals led by the late Chuck Mosley (Faith No More).

Primitive Race initially started as a social media campaign on Twitter that has included and featured a myriad of artists in over the years. Mosley’s untimely death in 2017, before Soul Pretender’s release, cast some doubt as to whether the band, would tour to promote the album or even continue to release music in the future. Thankfully, Kniker’s announcement on Twitter gives fans hope and much to be excited for concerning the band’s future.

In December 2017, Primitive Soul released a new video for “Dancing In The Sun” that was in honor of the album’s lead singer, Mosley. The band also premiered an animated lyric video for “Bed Six” late last year via mxdwn.
