Singer Solange released a music video to accompany her new song “Almeda” as reported by Fader. This video comes soon after the release of her latest album When I Get Home which includes songs like “Almeda” and “Stay Flo.” The video features a futuristic display of Black Houstonian pride and uses geometric precision. The video is self-directed by Solange and it shows as it demonstrates extremely appealing choreographed scenes and visuals which highlight the lyrics of the song. Solange, who is from Houston, Texas, strategically chose to include the recognizable Fort Worth Water Gardens in one of the scenes, paying tribute to her home state.
Solange is the younger sister of R&B sensation Beyoncé, but her older sibling’s fame does not stand in the way of her making a name for herself. Solange has made ground in the music and fashion industries as a singer, dancer and model. She even has an entrepreneurial spirit as she launched her very own record label, Saint Records, in 2013. Her album A Seat at the Table, released in 2016, found success by reaching the top of the Billboard chart and leading Solange to her first Grammy in 2017.
As far as future endeavors go, Solange is set to hit the festival scene this summer including performing at one of the largest in Europe, the Primavera Festival in Barcelona.
