Imogen Heap Announces 2019 Mycelia World Tour Featuring First Frou Frou Performances Since 2003

Experimental pop artist Imogen Heap has announced her 2019 World Tour, adding dates in 12 US cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. These performances will have some help with Guy Sigsworth as Frou Frou(the electronic duo composed of Imogen Heap and Sigsworth), hosting the first performances together by the two since 2005.

The Mycelia World Tour will run concurrently with Imogen Heaps’ Creative Passport blockchain technology, which seeks to direct funds directly from music fans to a musical artist they support. As explained through a press release through: “template ‘smart contracts’, it enables quick and easy direct payments to simplify and democratise collaboration from meaningful commercial partnerships to creativity.”

As an independent artist Imogen Heap values the art of maintaining her own music career along with all of the business aspects of it. Some music industry execs and publishing companies oftentimes retain the majority of royalties for many major musical artists, which is a major point of discontent.

“For years now we’ve been complaining about the state of the music industry and how it has been held back by old ways of thinking, negatively impacting music makers – a major pain point being that we are the first to put in anyofthework, and the last to see any financial reward or even payment,” Imogen Heap explained regarding her struggles with the industry.

This system, according to Imogen Heap, will make the music industry more balanced for artists and allow them to push themselves to make the best work possible. Mycelia, therefore functions as a hub for research and development in making the industry a more fair place for these artists.

“Through Mycelia and its ‘Creative Passport’, as music makers we now have no excuse but to put our best foot forward and become open for business, decentralising the ecosystem so that it will ultimately benefit everyone,” Imogen Heap elaborated in the press release.”I am excited to be going on the road to bring this to life, in addition to showcasing other new technologies which will add to transforming the music industry into a fair, flourishing and vibrant place.”

In addition to these performances Imogen Heap will make appearances at the Blockchain Revolution Global event on April 24 in Toronto, and the Enterprise Blockchain Awards Gala. During the Gala Imogen Heap will perform one song demonstrating the MI.MU gloves. She will also attend the eMerge Americas in Miami, WSJ Future Of Everything Festival in NYC and Boston Calling conferences, delivering a keynote talk about Mycelia with showcase of the MI.MU gloves.

This is Imogen Heap’s first musical tour in North America in nine years.
