The Canadian festival Pouzza announced its 2019 lineup including Andrew W.K., Against Me! and Iron Reagan. Taking place May 17-19, festival-goers can expect over 175 bands performing in different venues within walking distance from each other. Other artists include Strung Out, The Planet Smashers, Subb, Samiam, Big D and the Kids Table, Ogikubo Station and many more.

The festival is to take place in Montreal, Quebec in the downtown area and hours are from noon to nine PM. The focus of the event is bringing the punk scene together and creating a communal environment. It is an opportunity for fans to meet new friends, discover new bands, and explore Montreal.

The first edition of Pouzza, a name created from the mashup of poutine and pizza, occurred in 2011 and featured bands like Bad Astronaut and Zero Boys. The 2018 edition landed headliners Reel Big Fish and Anti-Flag.

One of the 2019 headliners, Against Me!, released an EP this year that includes tracks “Cavalier Eternal” and “You Look Like I Need a Drink.” The punk rock band covered “People Who Died,” song originally done by The Jim Caroll Band, in October. It was featured on a new compilation album Songs that Saved My Life that was released on November 9. Known for the drama and intensity of his sound and energetic performances, Andrew W.K. will bring his party vibes to the stage at Pouzza. Sony Records released You’re Not Alone, his first studio album with new music since 2009, in March of 2018. He was also named “Person of the Year” by the American Association of Suicidology last February. Another headliner is thrash band Iron Reagan from Richmond, Virginia. They are hitting a Southeastern U.S. tour in March before coming to the festival. Their latest EP released in October 2019 Dark Days Ahead, takes a large political stance for listeners. Planet Smashers will be in attendance at the festival as well, they played at the Montreal 77 Festival in 2018. Subb, a band that blends sounds of NOFX and Sublime, will be at the festival as they were formed in a small suburb right outside of Monteal.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now and can be purchased on the festival site
