The final weekend of SXSW will surely bring out parties to send SX out with a bang but for one party this is notthing new to them. Do512 has been presenting their annual send off for the last 12 years and this year is no different when they team up with Woot this year, as they present their 13th annual The Big One at Barracuda on Saturday March 16th. Last year’s The Big One looked like it didn’t disappoint by the pictures on their Facebook album which you can check out here.
This year’s lineup will feature bands from around the world including Reignwolf from Seattle, Washington a rock band not at all a stranger of music festivals or Austin as they’ve played some of the major festivals around the country (Coachella, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits). Haiku Hands coming all the way from Australia will try to get everyone to dance when they bring their electronic dance sound to The Big One (lookout for their new single Dare You Not to Dance) and Y La Bamba an indie folk band from Portland, Oregon where singer-songwriter Luz Elena Mendoza “explores what it means to be a Mexican-Amercian woman by leading us through places we are afraid to go.” The Big One is looking to put you on a rollercoaster of emotions with their diverse line-up this year.
This year along with their line-up Do512 and Shirt.Woot are also having “The Really BIG Design Contest.” They are asking you to design the t-shirt for this year’s The Big One. With prizes ranging from $3000 in case to a GoPro Hero 4 it also includes bragging rights because they will print 500 shirts of your design and hand them out at this year’s party. They also will feature your design on Shirt.Woot and you’ll receive cash for each one that is sold.

The Big One Saturday March 16th 11:30 am – 6 pm at Barracuda (611 E. 7th Street)
The Big One is a 21 and over event and free for everyone. RSVP is not needed but if you RSVP now you enter a chance to win a guaranteed entry plus a bar tab (how can you not rsvp with a bar tab on the line).
From Do512, “The Big One is our final send-off party to the festival, which of course means that we pull out all the stops to make sure it’s as badass as humanly possible.”
It sounds like it.
