“Stillness” is the second single that Inter Arma have released in past two weeks. Known for their distinct slow and heavy metal sound, the band hailing from Richmond, Virginia, recently released a separate track that addresses depression titled, “Citadel.” For Inter Arma, both of these singles are coming from their upcoming LP called Sulphur English.

“Stillness” was released as part of nighttime programming channel Adult Swim’s Singles series, which has also released singles in the past like “Feel Nothing” by Health, and “Human Being” by Robyn. Inter Arma’s latest track sees the band shifting away from their heavier side, by incorporating acoustic guitars and soft, brooding vocals in the beginning, before building up to a climatic psychedelic rock ending. “Stillness” is truly a slow burn journey for fans as the track is almost ten minutes long.

Sulphur English is due for a April 12 release this year. Commenting on their slated album release, Vocalist Mike Paparo has high hopes for the band’s progress, as he states that it is “an ill-tempered, unrepentant act of defiance towards stagnation or complacency.” The LP is expected to feature the band delving deeper into the psych-folk sounds that were heard in their last two works, Paradise Gallows and Sky Burial. Check out Sulphur English’s tracklist below.
