Fans of Tool have to currently listen to the band’s music the old-fashioned way, through CD’s. As of now, Tool’s legendary catalog is not available on any major streaming platform. As Compact discs are slowly and sadly starting to be no longer, it makes it more challenging for new and old fans alike to listen to their music. In a Bloomberg Report provided by The PRP, “the band’s camp had been having meetings with Spotify and Apple Music to potentially get their songs out via the now-dominant form of music consumption.”
Frontman Maynard James Kennan recently replied to a fan’s tweet voicing his concern to add their music to streaming services, even suggesting the band make their own app providing their music. Kennan replied suggesting that he is not the one to blame for their music not being available. See the tweet below.
Earlier this month, Kennan updated fans with a tweet saying that the recording vocals for the new album are finished. Guitarist Adam Jones also shared a picture of him in the studio via Instagram. The band will also have an eventful summer, playing numerous festivals across the states and Europe, including Chicago’s Open Air, Welcome to Rockville, Hellfest Open Air, Firenze Rocks, Download Festival,UK just to name a few.
