Pickathon Announces 2019 Lineup Featuring Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, YOB and Laura Veirs

Pickathon has announced the lineup for the 2019 edition and it’s quite impressive. In an age when so many festivals essentially have identical lineups, Pickathon has managed to stand out from the crowd with headliners like Nathaniel Rateliff, Khruangbin, Mandolin Orange, and Tyler Childers. The festival takes place on August 2-4 in Happy Valley, OR.

Other bands that will be performing at the festival includes indie pop group Lucius, New Orleans jazz band Preservation Hall Jazz Band, folk group featuring a member of Sylvan Esso, Mountain Man, Canadian hardcore heros Fruit Bats, Portland doom metalheads YOB, heart-rending troubadour Damien Jurado, idiosyncratic folk band Lambchop, Laura Veirs and Julia Jacklin. Other noteworthy performers include The Marías, Courtney Marie Andrews, Polaris winning singer Lido Pimienta, African group Jupiter & Okwess, JJUUJJUU, rapper Sneaks and indie rock band Bodega.

Tyler Childers is a rising star in the country music scene with the release of his breakout album Purgatory in 2017. Laura Veirs released an excellent new album in 2018 called The Lookout and was member of a supergroup called case/lang/veirs. YOB recovered from its lead singer’s health battles to release one of 2018’s best albums Our Raw Heart.

UPDATE (3/13): Pickathon has added another round of artists to its 2019 lineup. Joining the festival in Oregon are Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band, The Richard Swift Hex Band, Ibibio Sound Machine, Makaya McCraven, Dan Mangan, Altin Gün, Viagra Boys, Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno, Ora Cogan, Reptaliens, Karma Rivera and The Tender Things.
