Barcelona’s Primavera music festival has branched out and set up another music festival under the Primavera name. This second festival, which will take place in Portugal from June 6-8 and include a variety of world renowned musicians, is debuting for the first time this year and will be called NOS Primavera Sound Porto. The headliners for the festival include singer Solange and the bands Stereolab and Interpol.
The Primavera Festival in Barcelona has become one of the largest music festivals in the region, and has brought fans of all kinds to the city to hear their favorite musicians perform. Due to the success of the Primavera Festival, its organizers have decided to branch out and create a sister festival in Porto, Portugal. While this new event will be slightly smaller than the Barcelona weekend, it is an amazing opportunity for the business to grow and bring music to an even larger audience. The performers for the NOS Primavera Sound festival are set to do exactly that, aside from the headliners other artists slated to appear are singer Kali Uchis, rappers Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA and a variety of other diverse acts.
Solange is one of the most vocally talented performers making music today and has more than pulled herself out from her sister Beyonce’s shadow. Solange Knowles began making music at a young age after being exposed to the industry through her sister’s success in Destiny’s Child. Solange’s most recent project was her 2016 album, A Seat at the Table. This album brought fans powerful songs like “Cranes in the Sky” and “Mad” featuring Lil Wayne. Solange’s performance at the NOS Primavera Sound Festival is sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend and a must-see for any fans of her music.
Another act performing at the festival is alternative pop group Stereolab. Beginning in the 1990s, Stereolab has always worked hard to create a distinct sound for their music. They have released a variety of carefully coordinated and assembled albums over the past few decades, always relying on their unique and avant-garde production choices to set them apart from the crowd. Their music really is one of a kind, especially when looking at songs such as “Metronomic Underground” and “Lo Boob Oscillator.” The group is one of the more aesthetically pleasing acts set to perform at the festival, and their set is sure to be one of the most unique experiences of the weekend.
The band Interpol is another major act set to perform at NOS Primavera Sound. Since their founding in the late 1990s, Interpol has experienced mass commercial success and won over audiences across the globe. Songs such as “Evil” and “Obstacle 1” brought the band critical acclaim and helped skyrocket them to playing in front of massive crowds. Their set at the NOS Primavera Sound Festival is going to be one of the best of the event for sure.
