In honor of Chris Cornell, there will be a tribute concert set to take place in a few days. ‘I Am The Highway’, A Tribute To Chris Cornell will occur on Wednesday, January 16th at The Forum in Inglewood. The event will feature performances from Cornel’s former bands Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog, as well as Foo Fighters, Metallica, Ryan Adams, and many more. The tribute concert will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. General admission tickets are currently starting at $176. Ticket proceeds will benefit The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, as well as The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for this painful and debilitating genetic disorder. Each ticket purchased will also include a digital copy of Cornell’s self titled album. The event will begin at 7:00 PM and will be open to all ages.
Christopher Cornell is a talented musician that has been the frontman for many popular bands. Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog were all led by Cornell and experienced their fair shares of success. With that said, Cornell has accumulated a total of 14.8 million albums sold, 8.8 million songs sold digitally, and 300 million audio streams in the U.S. alone. In addition, he has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards and won two them. This is merely a brief look at how significant and influential this gifted artist was.

Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Miguel have been added to the concert. Other earlier additions to the lineup include Mike Patton of Faith No More and members of the Melvins.
UPDATE (1/16): According to The PRP, Mike Patton has been forced to cancel his appearance at tonight’s tribute show due to the same illness that caused him to cancel his appearance at an NFL playoff game to sing the National Anthem.
