Meat Puppets’ Original Lineup Announces First New Album Together in 23 Years Dusty Notes for March 2019 Release

Another band reunion is now in play. The full original lineup of the Meat Puppets are back and have announced a brand new album titled Dusty Notes is set to arrive March 8th, 2019 from Megaforce. The album is the band’s first since 1995’s No Joke!, making it 24 years the original trio has put out any new material. Fans can pre-order the album here. Along with the album release, the band has released the first single from the album called “Warranty.” NPR Music says the new song “comes galloping out of a stable with the Meat Puppets’ classic acoustic-based, country-turned-psychedelic gonzo trip signature sound.” Listen to the new track below.

Meat Puppets will also be touring in 2019 with dates to be announced at a later date. The band last toured in 2017 with  Mike Watt + the Jom and Terry Show.
The reunion initially started at their induction at 2017 Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame and after performing a set full of their hits, drummer Derrick Bostrom. stated “It was so intense that even I couldn’t deny it!  I remember why we did this. It was magical.”Fellow band member Chris Kirkwood then added: “It was the psychedelic fuckin’ time machine.”

In a press release, Dusty Notes also features keyboardist Ron Stabinsky, a jazz-trained virtuoso adept at any style, and Curt’s son Elmo. “These guys are uncompromising. I consider the Meat Puppets to be a national treasure,” said Bostrom.
