Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, aka MC Lupe Fiasco, reigns from Chicago and has been in the rap game since 2000. While currently being one of the best rappers to ever live, Lupe’s career didn’t really take off until the release of his first studio album in 2006 entitled Food & Liquor. With a stacked list of producers like Jay Z, Kanye West, The Neptunes, and Mike Shinoda that worked on the album, the record was destined for success. The favored album featured many of his hit singles which included Kick, Push, I Gotcha, and Daydreamin’ featuring Jill Scott. Lupe earned various accolades because of this successful album including Breakout Man of the Year for GQ Magazine, four BET Hiphop award nominations, and won Best Urban/Alternative Performance for Daydreamin’. The album will forever be ingrained in hiphop history and will always be referred to as one of the best hiphop albums of all time.

With the said, fans are fortunate that Lupe has finally gotten the opportunity to give them what they wanted for many years. Food & Liquor is not only an essential piece of hiphop history but also significant in Lupe’s growing career as a lyrical virtuoso.

Julian Pino: I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. I graduated from California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, California, but I now reside in Los Angeles. I'm very passionate about music and have been trying to involve myself with the culture surrounding it for as long as I can remember. I was recently fortunate enough to work with the thriving new multi-channel network, Create Music Group where I learned many new things about the music industry. Here, I acquired several skills regarding music monetization and even became certified in YouTube Content Ownership. When I'm not working on the clock I usually spend my time finding new music. As a DJ/producer, I take pride in discovering new artists and different types of genres. I recently started a project where I intend to support and share new artists on social media so that they're getting the recognition that they deserve. I also make an effort to attend local shows whether the performers are superstar artists or aspiring artists. Ultimately, I aim to positively impact the community of artists and listeners that are as impassioned about music as I am.
