Oya Festival Announces 2019 Lineup Featuring The Cure, Mitski and Robyn

Another artist making her way to the Oya stage is the Swedish pop singer Robyn. She recently announced her brand new tour starting winter of 2019 and also released her new album Honey which followed her acclaimed album Body Talk.

There are day passes that can get you in for one of the days as well as festival passes that will give ticketholders free entrance to any festival area during the week as well as most Club Night concerts. Single tickets are sold at each venue for those nighttime specific events.

It was back in 2014 when Oya’s first festival happened in Tøyen Park for the first time, where fans in attendance heard from bands such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Outkast, Röyksopp & Robyn, Bryan Ferry and many more. The festival first took over from the Kalvoya Festival which occurred from 1971 to 1997 and came to be known as Oya in 1999 which means “island.”

The Øya Festival took over from the Kalvøya Festival, which was held on the island Kalvøya from 1971 to 1997, with legends like Frank Zappa, Jackson Browne and Nirvana on stage. The new festival appeared in 1999 under the name Øya, which means “island”, and the name was kept when the festival moved off the island and into the city in 2001. Artists who performed at this past festival, which was sold out, included the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Arcade Fire, Lykki Li and St Vincent.
