Lollapalooza Brazil has just got around to announcing its 2019 lineup, alongside its two other South American versions in Chile and Argentina. The event, featuring an incredible roster of huge name artists, will occur in Autodromo de Interlagos, Sao Paulo between April 5 and April 7, a few days after the other two festivals.
The headliners for the event include Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Tribalistas, Post Malone, Lenny Kravitz, Sam Smith and Twenty One Pilots. However, there are plenty of other big name artists that will grace the stage throughout the event, such as Tiësto, The 1975, Interpol, Macklemore, Greta Van Fleet, Foals, St. Vincent, Snow Patrol, Bring Me The Horizon, Troye Sivan, Portugal. The Man, KSHMR, Rashid, Kungs, LANY, and many more.
The 2019 incarnation of these international Lollapalooza events also serve as the debut South American stages for quite a few of the featured artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Macklemore, Years & Years, Zhu, Troye Sivan, Rufus Du Sol, Jorja Smith, Lany, Greta Van Fleet, Parcels, and Clairo. Sam Smith will have his first experience presenting the British soul singer’s voice live to excited fans in both Chile and Argentina.
Though this is only Lollapalooza Brazil’s eighth edition, Lollapalooza has had a long and storied history as an incredibly innovative festival. Since its inception in 1991 as a touring festival, it was “the first festival to bring together artists from a wide range of musical genres on one bill, it was also the first to travel, the first to expand to multiple days, the first to introduce a second stage, the first to blend art and activism, the first to offset its carbon emissions, the first to put electronic dance music artists on the main stage, the first to create family friendly programming, the first to make its home in an urban city center and the first to expand internationally,” according to a press release.
