Red Dead Redemption Shares Soundtrack Details and Daniel Lanois-Produced Vocal Contributions from D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Rhiannon Gidden, Josh Homme and More

Following the incredible critical acclaim and commercial success that the Red Dead Redemption 2 launch brought, Rockstar Games has announced that they will be unveiling the official RDR2 soundtrack. Though there is not yet a set release date for the soundtrack, there is quite a bit of information with this announcement that is worth getting your mouth watered for.

The soundtrack is reportedly comprised entirely of original tracks that were written and recorded specifically for the game, with the background music soundtrack being composed by Woody Jackson. Jackson also worked on the soundtrack for the original Red Dead Redemption as well as other incredible Rockstar Games releases such as Grand Theft Auto V.

Apparently to count all the musicians who contributed to the soundtrack, you’d need 22 whole hands. 110 people, including talent from other popular entertainment franchises like Sons of Anarchy, True Detective, and Hereditary all worked on the soundtrack.

And it’s not just people from the television or video game industry. Quite a few well-known artists, including D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Nas, Rhiannon Giddens, Josh Homme, and David Ferguson.

Not only the release date, but Rockstar has yet to give any information about the pricing or how it will be released, but interested fans can definitely catch glimpses of it within the game itself.
