To celebrate their 10 year anniversary of the popular record This Is Exile, American deathcore band Whitechapel will be performing at the Fonda Theater on Friday, December 7th. Tickets for the show are going to cost fans $24.50. The doors for the event will open at 6:30 PM, with the band performing at 7:30 PM.
Whitechapel is rooted from Knoxville, Tennessee with their band name referring to the murders committed by the notorious killer, Jack the Ripper. The band is commonly known to be one of the main influencers of the deathcore genre. The current band roster consists of vocalist Phil Bozeman, guitarists Ben Savage, Alex Wade, and Zach Householder, and bassist Gabe Crisp. Since its foundation in 2006, the band has released six studio albums. Specifically, their second album entitled This Is Exile was a special milestone because of the opportunities that ensued. In 2008, the album reached 118 on the Billboard Top 200, which led to the band going on tour the following months. In August, they began their first ever headlining tour with Impending Doom, A Different Breed of Killer, and Through the Eyes of the Dead. After that, they eventually began to tour with more popular bands including Parkway Drive, Unearth, Job for a Cowboy, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, and The Black Dahlia Murder.
The band is rightfully labeled as one of the pioneers of deathcore. There are only a handful of deathcore bands that still manage to find the success that they do. Their music is refreshing, malevolent, and powerful. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to catch this talented six man group at the Fonda.
